Brookhaven RP is way more fun when you control who joins and what happens. Brookhaven private server controls let the server owner kick disruptive players, lock the server, manage music, and tweak the in-game environment โ all without needing any special admin rank. This guide walks through every option so you can run a smooth, drama-free session.
How to open the private server settings
Once you own a Brookhaven private server (purchased through the Roblox server page), launch the game and look for the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen. A panel will open with tabs for Players, World, and Options. Everything you need is inside those three tabs.
You must be the server owner โ the Roblox account that purchased the private server link โ to access all controls. Friends you invite can play but cannot use owner-level controls unless you use the co-owner slot (if available in the current version).
Player controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Kick player | Removes a player from your server immediately |
| Ban player | Prevents them from rejoining this private server |
| Whitelist | Only listed users can join; all others are turned away |
| Co-owner | Grants another player access to server management tools |
| Max players | Reduces the server cap below the default 18-player limit |
To kick or ban someone, open the Players tab, find their username, and tap the relevant button. The ban applies only to your private server link, not to the player's Roblox account globally.
World and environment controls
Inside the World tab you can change the time of day (day/night toggle), switch between weather presets, and reset all houses back to their default state. Resetting houses is useful if griefers have changed every interior and you want a clean start for a new roleplay session.
| World setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Time of day | Day, Night, Sunset |
| Weather | Clear, Rain, Fog |
| Reset all houses | Restores every house to default layout |
| Music | Pause or change the ambient track |
Music and ambient controls
The Music option in the Options tab lets you enter a Roblox audio ID to set a custom background track for the whole server. Only the server owner can change this; players in the server hear whatever the owner sets. If the track won't play, make sure the audio asset is public โ private uploads will not work.

FAQ
Can I give someone else control of my private server?
If the current version supports a co-owner slot, yes. Otherwise you would need to share your Roblox account, which is against Roblox Terms of Service. Check the in-game settings panel for a co-owner option.
Why can't I see the settings gear icon?
You must be in a server you own. If you joined someone else's private server link, you are a guest and the owner controls are hidden for you.
How do I stop random people from joining my private server?
Enable the Whitelist in the Players tab. Only usernames on the list will be allowed in. Send the link only to people you trust โ anyone with the link can attempt to join.
Can I change the time of day mid-session?
Yes. The time-of-day toggle in the World tab applies instantly for everyone in the server. Other players will see the change at the same time you make it.
Does buying a private server require Robux every month?
Brookhaven private servers are rented through Roblox's standard private server system, which charges a recurring monthly fee in Robux. The exact price is shown on the game's main page before you purchase.
