Coverage and speeds
Airalo Jiguk uses KT (Korea Telecom) and SK Telecom, two of Korea's "big three". Network quality is essentially identical to a local SIM.
- Seoul — solid 5G across the city, including the metro and underground arcades in Myeongdong and Gangnam.
- Busan — 5G in the centre, along Haeundae and Gwangalli beaches and around Seomyeon. 4G on Geumjeongsan mountain trails.
- Jeju — 4G/5G in Jeju City and Seogwipo; weaker on Hallasan volcano and in national parks, but 4G is present in most spots.
- DMZ tours — 4G along the route; the signal may dip right at the border, which is normal for the area.
- Sokcho, Gangwon, ski resorts — 4G/5G in villages, weaker on slopes.
Tethering is allowed. No Korean number — for native Korean services (KakaoT, Coupang) that's sometimes a minus, but KakaoTalk and WhatsApp work normally.
Installation and activation
Install the eSIM at home over Wi-Fi, activate after landing at Incheon once the phone catches KT or SKT.
