Minecraft Marketplace Guide
Minecraft Marketplace is the official content store for Minecraft Bedrock Edition. It sells skins, texture packs, maps, adventures, and DLC โ all purchased with Minecoins, the in-game currency. Minecoins can be bought through platform gift cards without a bank card.
Bedrock vs Java: An Important Distinction
Marketplace is available exclusively in Bedrock Edition (Windows 10/11, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile). Java Edition uses free community-made mods and resource packs โ Marketplace is not available there.

What to Buy in Minecraft Marketplace
Skin Packs โ official packs from Mojang and licensed partners: Minecraft Dungeons, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, Sonic, and many others.
Texture Packs โ reskin the entire visual style of the game. Options range from RTX-compatible realistic packs for Windows to fantasy-themed sets.
Adventures and Maps โ pre-built worlds with quests, puzzles, and storylines. Some rival standalone games in scope.
DLC Bundles โ thematic content packs combining skins, textures, and a custom world in a single package.
Marketplace Pass
Marketplace Pass is a monthly subscription (~$3.99/month) that provides access to a rotating library of Marketplace content. It doesn't give permanent ownership โ access lasts only while the subscription is active.
Payment goes through your platform's billing system (Xbox/Google Play/Apple balance).
Cross-Platform Minecoin Compatibility
Minecoins are tied to your Microsoft Account (Xbox Live). If you're signed in with the same Microsoft Account on PC, Xbox, and mobile, your Minecoin wallet is shared. Purchases on any device are accessible on all others.
PlayStation and Nintendo Switch use their own payment systems for Minecoins. Coins purchased through PSN or the Nintendo eShop do not transfer to other platforms.
FAQ
Can Minecoins be used in Java Edition?
No. Marketplace and Minecoins are exclusive to Bedrock Edition.
Do purchased skins carry over between platforms?
Yes. Everything bought with Minecoins through a Microsoft Account is available on all Bedrock platforms linked to that account.
Can I get Minecoins for free?
Some Marketplace content is available free to browse, and occasional promotions offer free skin packs. There is no ongoing free Minecoin earning mechanism.
What if a purchased skin or world doesn't work?
Restart the game first. If the issue persists, contact Mojang Support through minecraft.net.
Are Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Legends part of the Marketplace?
No. These are separate games with their own stores. Minecoins from the main Minecraft game don't work in them.
