PSN Cross-Region Purchases Explained: What Carries Across Accounts
Sony ties every purchase to a specific account, not to your console. If you have two accounts โ say one US and one Turkish โ each one keeps its own wallet, library and active subscriptions. But both can run on the same PS5 at the same time. Here's the full breakdown of what carries across regions and what doesn't.
What works cross-region
| Item | Carries across |
|---|---|
| PSN ID profile (name, avatar) | Yes, unified across regions |
| Trophies | Yes, shared across accounts |
| Friends | Yes, no regional limits |
| Saves (USB / cloud of one account) | Yes, within one account |
| Voice chat, Party | Yes |
| Cross-buy games (Stray, Hades) | Yes, on the same account |
What does NOT work cross-region
- Purchased games: a game bought on the TR account won't show up in the library of a US account. Separate licenses.
- PS Plus subscriptions: tied to one specific account, not shared with other profiles on the console (except via Console Sharing โ see below).
- Wallet balance: TRY on a Turkish account can't be spent on a US account, and vice versa. No conversion between currencies.
- DLC: bound to the base game's region. Buy the base on TR, buy the DLC on TR too.
- Pre-orders and release windows: release dates depend on region. Final Fantasy launches earlier in Japan than the US.
Console Sharing: the legal sharing path
If your PS Plus is on the TR account, you can share it with every profile on the console:
- Sign into the TR account on PS5.
- Go to [Settings] โ [Users and Accounts] โ [Other] โ [Console Sharing and Offline Play] โ Enable.
- All other profiles on that console get access to the TR account's games and PS Plus.
- The TR account itself stays "primary" on this console but can still use its games on any other console while signed in online.
This is an official Sony feature and works across regions without issue โ one PS5 can host TR + US + JP accounts sharing games and subscriptions.
What to buy on which account
- PS Plus โ always TR (cheapest region).
- AAA new releases โ TR (โบ1 800 vs $69.99).
- Multiplayer with region-locked servers โ check matchmaking (Apex, Valorant, COD pick servers by IP, not account region).
- Games with English language โ most AAA on TR include English audio and subtitles, same as elsewhere. Confirm in the PS Store Turkey game card.
- Pre-orders with region-locked bonuses โ if the bonus is tied to a region (Japanese exclusive cosmetic, etc.), buy on the matching account.
Can libraries be merged?
No. Sony provides no tool to merge two accounts. Every purchase stays with the account it was made on. Plan ahead: if a game is on the TR account, buy all DLC and season passes there too.
Best practice: one main TR account
The cleanest setup is to keep one main TR account for all purchases (games, PS Plus, DLC) and leave the US or RU account only for F2P games and friends. That maximizes savings and keeps your library together.
To fund the TR account, use lira vouchers โ Sony blocks foreign cards with error E2-8211306A. Through Marix you pay in rubles and receive a TRY code by email within minutes.
