Valorant Ranks 2026: Iron → Radiant, RR, Decay, Splits
In 2026 the Valorant ranked system has matured after the launch of Premier mode and RR-math updates. Here is a clear breakdown of current tiers, how rating is calculated, why decay happens, and what percent of players sit in each tier.

The median player in 2026 is Gold 2. Hitting Diamond means top ~20% of your region. Radiant is literally the top-500 accounts on the server.
How RR is calculated
Every rank from Iron 1 to Immortal 3 has a 0–100 RR scale. A win gives +10…+50 RR, a loss -10…-30 RR. The final number depends on:
- MMR vs displayed rank. If your hidden MMR is above your current tier, wins pay more and losses cost less.
- Personal performance. Up to Ascendant 3, KDA, ADR and assists are factored in — MVP players get +5…+10 RR bonus.
- Win streak. Riot removed formal streak bonuses in 2024, but MMR boosts after 3 wins remain.
In Immortal+ MMR bonuses are off — flat ±25 RR per match, no individual performance factor.
Soft-reset and splits
An act lasts about 2 months, an episode is three acts (~6 months). At act start Riot does a soft-reset: your rank drops by 6 divisions (about 2 tiers). If you were Platinum 2, you start the new act at Gold 2 — but the first 5 ranked games push you back near your old MMR.
Rank decay
Decay in 2026 works like this:
- Immortal and above: -10 RR every 14 days without a ranked match.
- Ascendant 3: -5 RR per 14 days.
- Diamond and below: no decay.
If you sit at Immortal and skip a month, you lose ~20 RR — enough to drop you back to Ascendant 3. In Radiant top-500, inactive accounts fall off the leaderboard instantly.
Radiant: top-500 per region
Radiant is not a separate RR tier but a leaderboard position. To hit Radiant you must be in the top 500 of your region by RR at Immortal 3+. Entry cut-off in 2026: EU ~480 RR, NA ~510 RR, KR ~620 RR (the hardest region).
How many games you need
- Iron to Gold: ~50 ranked games at 55% winrate.
- Gold to Platinum: ~80 games.
- Platinum to Diamond: ~120 games at 60% winrate.
- Immortal+: only high personal stats keep you there.
