Airalo eSIM APN Settings — Where to Find Them and How to Set Manually
APN (Access Point Name) is the network address your phone uses to reach the internet. On most Airalo plans the APN is pushed automatically at activation and nothing has to be set manually. But if data does not appear after landing — or you see a 4G icon with no traffic — you may need to enter the APN by hand.
What you need
- An installed Airalo eSIM
- Wi-Fi or a friend's hotspot for testing
- The plan's specific instructions — Airalo shows these in the app and emails them with the QR
- iPhone on iOS 17+ or Android with One UI / Android 13+

The exact APN value is always listed in the plan card inside the Airalo app — Plan Details → APN settings.
Manual APN entry on iPhone
- Settings → Cellular → pick the Airalo line.
- Cellular Data Network.
- Under Cellular Data, fill in:
- APN: value from your plan instructions
- Username: leave empty
- Password: leave empty
- Under LTE fill in the same APN (if shown).
- Back out to the previous screen. Changes apply automatically.
- Reboot the iPhone to be safe.
If the Cellular Data Network menu does not show up under the Airalo line — the carrier locked it from editing. That is normal for plans whose APN is auto-detected.
Manual APN entry on Android
- Settings → Connections → Mobile networks.
- Switch to the Airalo SIM at the top.
- Access Point Names → + Add.
- Fill in:
- Name: Airalo
- APN: value from instructions
- APN type:
default,supl(or leave default) - Leave other fields empty
- Save, go back to the APN list and tap the radio button next to the new profile.
- Toggle Airplane mode to reconnect.
When APN must be set manually
- No data after 10-15 minutes of landing
- 4G/5G indicator shows but data does not flow
- "Connected, no internet" message
- Speed is much lower than the plan claims
If none of these happen, leave APN alone — auto-detection works fine.
