Before you start
Make sure you have:
- An active GearUP Booster subscription — without one the booster runs in demo mode (limited time)
- VPN disabled — VPN and GearUP conflict; disable it completely
- Other boosters disabled — ExitLag, Mudfish, WTFast cannot run simultaneously with GearUP

Install on Windows
- Download the installer — Go to the GearUP Booster website → click "Download for Windows". The file is about 50 MB and downloads in 1–2 minutes.
- Install the app — Run the downloaded .exe file. If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning, click "More info" → "Run anyway". GearUP installs to Program Files automatically.
- Log in to your account — On first launch enter your GearUP email and password. If you do not have an account, register directly in the app.
- Allow the network driver — GearUP will ask to install a network component (WinPcap or similar). Click "Allow" / "Install". This is normal — it is how traffic is intercepted. Your antivirus may ask for confirmation — allow it.
If your antivirus blocked the installation, add the GearUP folder to exceptions. Kaspersky, ESET and Windows Defender sometimes flag network drivers as false positives.
Install on smartphone (iOS and Android)
Android
- Open Google Play → search for "GearUP Booster"
- Install the official app from GearUP. Confirm the developer is GearUP Ltd.
- Log in and grant permissions. The app will request VPN permission — this is needed to intercept game traffic. Tap "OK".
- Select your game from the list. On the main screen find your game (PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends, CoD Mobile, etc.) or add it manually.
iOS
Installation is the same as Android but via the App Store. On first launch iOS will ask to create a VPN configuration — this is required for the booster to work; tap "Allow".
On iOS you cannot use GearUP and any VPN at the same time — iOS only allows one VPN connection. Make sure all other VPN apps are disconnected.
Select game and region
After logging in, find your game via search or scroll through the list. GearUP supports over 1,000 games.
In the game card you will see a region drop-down — select the region your game actually connects to:

First launch: correct order
Launch order is critical. If you start the game before GearUP, the booster will not intercept the connection.
- Launch GearUP Booster — Open the app and wait for the status to change from "Connecting…" to "Connected" (green indicator).
- Select your game in GearUP and click "Boost" — Click "Boost" / "Start" on the game card. GearUP begins route optimisation — this takes 5–15 seconds.
- Launch the game itself — Only once GearUP shows an active route — launch the game. On PC, GearUP may launch the game automatically via the "Play" button.
- Enter the game and check ping — In most games ping is visible in settings or at the top of the screen. Compare it to your normal value without GearUP.
Verify the result
GearUP displays the current ping directly in the booster interface. There are several ways to check effectiveness:
- Ping Test in GearUP — built-in test: click the measurement icon; GearUP shows ping to the game server via its network and directly
- In-game ping counter — enable ping display in game settings (usually Settings → Graphics/Network → Show Ping)
- Before and after comparison — play a match without GearUP, note the ping, then with GearUP — the difference will be clear
If ping dropped by less than 10 ms, GearUP may have helped little or not at all. Try a different server region. A reduction of 20 ms or more means the booster is working correctly.
Steam Deck setup
Steam Deck runs Linux and GearUP officially supports it in Desktop Mode:
- Switch to Desktop Mode — Hold the Steam button → Power → "Switch to Desktop Mode".
