Before you redeem
Before entering the code, make sure of the following:
- You have a Nintendo account with a region matching the card region. Turkish card → Turkish account. US card → US account.
- You know which account you want to add the balance to (if you have multiple accounts).
- You have the 16-character code from the card (or a QR code).
Method 1. Redeem on Nintendo Switch (recommended)
Step 1. Turn on your Nintendo Switch and go to the home screen.
Step 2. Make sure the correct user is selected (the one whose account you want to credit). Click the user avatar in the top-left corner to confirm it is the right account.
Step 3. Open Nintendo eShop. It is the orange icon on the home screen.
Step 4. In the top-right corner, tap your account icon, then select "Add Funds."
Step 5. Select "Use a Nintendo eShop Code."
Step 6. Enter the 16-character code from your card. Use the on-screen keyboard or press the camera button to scan the QR code.
Tip: The camera button is in the bottom-right corner of the entry field. Point the Switch camera at the QR code on your phone screen or a printout — the system will scan it automatically.
Step 7. Press "Confirm." The balance is added instantly.
Method 2. Redeem on the Nintendo website
Step 1. Open a browser and go to accounts.nintendo.com.
Step 2. Sign in to the Nintendo account for the correct region.
Step 3. In the left menu, select "Redeem Code."
Step 4. Enter the 16-character code and click "Confirm."
Step 5. The balance is added to the account. The next time you open the eShop on Switch, the funds will appear in your wallet.
Method 3. Redeem via the Nintendo app on your phone
Download the official Nintendo app (App Store / Google Play), sign in to the correct account, find the "Add Funds" section, and enter the code. The functionality is the same as the website.
What to do if the code is not accepted
- Check that the card region and account region match.
- Make sure you are entering the code without errors (letter O is not the number 0, letter I is not the number 1).
- Try entering each character manually rather than pasting.
- Wait 15 minutes and try again — there may be a temporary server issue.

Frequently asked questions
How many cards can I redeem on one account? Nintendo does not set a limit on the number of cards, but there is a maximum eShop wallet balance (usually 200–300 in local currency depending on region).
Can I redeem multiple cards for a single purchase? Yes. Redeem cards one by one — each one adds to the total balance. Then make your purchase from the accumulated balance.
Does the eShop balance expire after topping up? The balance does not expire. It is stored on the account indefinitely as long as the account is active.
