Riot Access Code — what it is and how to redeem it
A Riot Access Code (also called a Riot Prepaid Card or Riot Points Card) is a digital voucher that adds Riot Points to your account. Once redeemed, the Points are available across all Riot Games titles: Valorant, League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and Wild Rift.
What the code looks like
A standard Riot Access Code is 25 characters long, formatted as XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX (letters and numbers separated by dashes). You'll receive it by email either as plain text or in an image.
How to redeem a Riot Access Code
- Go to account.riotgames.com and sign in to your Riot account.
- Open the "Prepaid Cards" section — it's in the left-hand menu or directly at https://account.riotgames.com/prepaid-cards.
- Enter the code in the "Redeem Code" field. Type it in uppercase exactly as printed. You can skip the dashes — the system inserts them automatically.
- Click "Submit" or "Redeem." If the code is valid, you'll see a confirmation that Points have been credited.
- Check your balance — Riot Points appear immediately. In Valorant, the VP balance is shown in the top-right corner of the main menu.
Important things to know
- The code region must match your account region. An EU code won't work on a NA account. Confirm the region when purchasing.
- Codes are single-use — once redeemed, the code becomes invalid.
- Most codes have no expiry, but it's best to redeem within a few months of purchase.
- Redemption is browser-only via account.riotgames.com — you cannot redeem inside game clients or mobile apps.
FAQ
Can I use a Riot Access Code for both Valorant and LoL? Not simultaneously. The code tops up a shared Riot Points balance, which you then spend in whichever game you choose. In Valorant, Riot Points convert to VP when you make a purchase inside the game.
What if it shows "Invalid Code" when I enter it? Check that the code is for the correct account region. Make sure there are no leading or trailing spaces. If the error persists, contact Marix support with the code from your email.
Are Riot Access Code and Valorant Points the same thing? No. A Riot Access Code adds Riot Points (RP). RP then converts to Valorant Points (VP) when you make a purchase in the Valorant store. It's a two-step process.
