What's Happening
Google Cloud sent a notification about your billing account being suspended, or you can't add a payment method. As a result, your cloud resources (virtual machines, databases, storage) may be frozen or scheduled for deletion.
Causes of Billing Suspension
1. Payment method issues The most common cause โ the card failed verification or was declined during a charge. This happens with Russian cards, prepaid cards, or cards with insufficient balance.
2. Terms of Service violation Google Cloud may suspend accounts for TOS violations, including suspicious activity or use from restricted regions.
3. Fraudulent activity detected Unusual resource consumption (a sudden spike in traffic or compute usage) may be flagged as a compromised account โ Google suspends billing as a protective measure.
4. Country in restricted list Google complies with sanctions requirements. Accounts tied to Russia or using Russian payment methods can be frozen.
5. Credit limit exceeded If the outstanding balance exceeds a threshold, Google automatically suspends resources until the balance is cleared.
