Midasbuy Region Unavailable — How to Buy UC from Russia/CIS
Trying to open midasbuy.com from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine or several other CIS countries shows "This service is not available in your region" or "Region unavailable." Sometimes the site loads, but at checkout no payment method is offered. This is not a bug or a temporary block — it is the official policy of Tencent and its payment partners.
Why this happens
- Sanctions restrictions. Tencent and its payment providers (Adyen, Stripe) removed Russia, Belarus and parts of Ukraine from the supported list starting in 2022.
- IP geoblock. Midasbuy detects your region by IP. If the IP is Russian, the site either shows a stub page or hides every payment method.
- Card BIN block. Even through a VPN, if the card is issued in RU (BIN points to Russia), Midasbuy declines at checkout.
- No valid address. The Country/Address dropdown at checkout does not include Russia — there is nothing to select.
What does not work
- VPN. Lets you load the site but does not help payment. The card is still tracked by BIN, and wallets like AliPay or GCash need a local phone number and documents.
- A foreign card. EU cards only work on accounts with a matching region tag (Global account + DE card). A Russian UID may be rejected even with an EU card.
- Midasbuy promo or gift codes. Either region-locked or require ID verification to redeem.
- Random middlemen. High risk of losing money, zero guarantees.
