PSN Error WC-40360-3 โ Causes and How to Fix It
Error WC-40360-3 appears at PlayStation Store checkout or when adding a new payment method. Sony just says "An error has occurred. (WC-40360-3)" โ no further detail. The "WC" prefix stands for Wallet/Card and signals a payment method or fraud check problem. It most often hits Turkish accounts being paired with a foreign-issued card.
Why this error happens
- Card region doesn't match account region. A foreign card on a TR account is the classic WC-40360-3 trigger.
- Card already linked to another account. Sony refuses to attach the same card to multiple regional accounts.
- Fraud cooldown after multiple attempts. Several card-adding or payment attempts in a row temporarily block all wallet operations.
- Profile address inconsistent with region. If [Account Information] shows Turkey but the address has Cyrillic characters or a non-TR format, Sony flags the transaction.
- Card doesn't support international purchases. Many Russian cards require explicitly enabling "foreign payments" in the bank's mobile app.
How to fix it
- Remove every saved card. [Settings] โ [Account] โ [Wallet] โ [Payment Methods]. Delete them one by one until empty.
- Do not add another foreign card. It will produce the same WC-40360-3 and extend the cooldown.
