'Prepaid Card Could Not Be Redeemed at This Time' on PSN — Fix Guide
The message "The prepaid card could not be redeemed at this time" is different from a plain "code is incorrect": Sony confirms the code exists and is valid but says it cannot be redeemed right now. The issue isn't the code itself — it's the account state or the redemption service. Most often it's Sony's fraud lock or a temporary outage.
Why this error happens
- Account-level fraud flag. Sony flags accounts with many failed redemption attempts, frequent IP changes or other suspicious patterns. Voucher activation is blocked while the flag is active.
- Voucher and account region mismatch. Sony sometimes returns this error instead of an explicit "wrong region" — TRY code on a non-TR account.
- Sony service outage. The redemption service itself can be down. Check status.playstation.com — "Account Management" may show degraded or offline.
- Activation rate limit. Redeeming many vouchers back to back, even legitimate ones, triggers a temporary block.
