PS Store Turkey 'Something went wrong' Error โ How to Fix It
The "Something went wrong. Try again later." message appears when you hit Buy or Confirm on the Turkish PlayStation Store. Sony does not return an error code, so the cause could be anything from a transient network glitch to an account-region mismatch. In practice the cause almost always falls into one of four scenarios โ and each has a specific fix.
Why this error happens
- Account region is not Turkey. If the PSN account is registered in the US or another country and you only connected through a Turkish VPN, you cannot buy from the TR storefront.
- Card rejected by BIN. A foreign-issued card on a TR account often fails with this generic message instead of an explicit "card declined".
- Stale browser or PS App cache. Cookies from a previous regional session confuse the PlayStation Store.
- VPN active while account is already TR. Sometimes VPN works against you: Sony sees a mismatch between IP and payment method and blocks the transaction.
How to fix it
- Check the account region. [Settings] โ [Account] โ [Account Information]. If Country/Region is not Turkey, you cannot buy from TR Store โ Sony does not allow region change on an existing account.
- Clear cache and cookies. If buying via browser, Ctrl+Shift+Delete, remove cookies and cached files for all time, then reopen store.playstation.com/tr-tr/.
- Disable VPN if the account is already Turkish. Sony does not require a Turkish IP to buy on a TR account. A VPN can actually trigger the fraud system when it sees a mismatched IP for a TRY payment.
- Try the PS App or the console directly. If the browser fails, switch to the mobile PS App or buy from the PS5 itself. Sometimes the web frontend stumbles while the console goes through.
- Switch to a voucher. If none of the above helps, top up the wallet with a TRY code and pay from the balance. This is the most reliable path.
Quick diagnostic
| Symptom | Likely cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Error only in browser | Cache/cookies | Clear cookies, retry |
| Error everywhere, foreign card | BIN not Turkish | Use a voucher |
| Error only for PS Plus | Auto-renew card rejected | Top up wallet, then buy from balance |
| Error after changing country in profile | Region didn't actually change | Create a new TR account |
The safer way to top up PSN Turkey
If you already wasted an hour on "try again later", switch to voucher top-up. Marix lets you buy a TRY wallet code with a Russian or international card, delivers it by email within minutes, and you redeem it on the Turkish account at [Wallet] โ [Redeem Codes]. After that every purchase comes out of the wallet, and "Something went wrong" disappears โ Sony is no longer trying to charge a foreign card.
