Roblox Gift Card Country Mismatch — How to Fix Region Lock
Entering your code on roblox.com/redeem-roblox-cards, Roblox throws «This card cannot be redeemed in your region» or «This gift card is not valid in your country». That means the country your card was issued for does not match the country set on your Roblox account. Since 2024 Roblox has tightened regional checks, especially on USA, UK and Australia cards.
Why this error appears
- The card is locked to its issuing country. Every Roblox Gift Card is produced for one region: USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, Mexico and so on. Roblox checks the account region against the card region at redemption.
- Account region is set in
account.roblox.com. Not by IP, not by VPN — by the Country/Region field saved on your profile. - Subscription cards are strictest. Premium cards and high-denomination Robux cards are usually locked more strictly than entry-level Robux cards.
- Smart cards via a digital reseller. Roblox also tracks whether a card was originally sold under another country by a reseller like Amazon US, Walmart or Tesco.
How to fix it
- Check your account region. Open
roblox.com→ gear icon → Settings → Account Info → Country/Region. If it says United States but the card is UK, that's the cause. - Match it with the card region. The back of the card or the receipt shows Issued In or Region. A USA card only redeems on a USA account, and so on.
- Change your account region to match. On the same Settings → Account Info → Country/Region screen click Edit and select the card's country. Roblox allows a region change at most once every 6 months.
- Wait 10–15 minutes and retry. Region changes do not propagate across Roblox servers instantly.
- If you can't change region right now, ask the seller to swap the card for one matching your region. Redeeming someone else's card on someone else's account violates Roblox rules.
- Last resort: create a new account for the target region. Select the country at sign-up to match the cards you'll be buying.
