Xbox Code Redeem Page Stuck on Loading — How to Fix
You entered a 25-character Xbox code on redeem.microsoft.com, clicked Next or Confirm — and the page spins forever. Or you get "Something went wrong, please try again." This is a common issue and it almost never means the code is invalid — usually it's a browser session or a temporary Microsoft outage.
Why this happens
- Microsoft outage. Sometimes
redeem.microsoft.comand Xbox Live go down together. Check atstatus.xbox.comandsupport.microsoft.com/status. - Browser cookies or session conflict. Old Microsoft login cookies, ML cookies, or multiple Microsoft tabs open at once frequently trigger hangs.
- Browser extensions blocking JS. uBlock, Privacy Badger, NoScript can block the Microsoft scripts that confirm a redeem.
- Account flag. If the account was recently flagged by fraud detection (multiple failed redeems, country change, new IP), Microsoft will stall the page.
- VPN or mobile hotspot. Microsoft doesn't like sudden geolocation changes between steps.
How to fix it
- Check Microsoft status. Open
status.xbox.comin another window. If there's a "Redeem code" or "Microsoft Account" incident, wait 30–60 minutes — there's nothing to fix on your side. - Clear cookies and try incognito. In Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Clear cookies → microsoft.com. Then open
redeem.microsoft.comin incognito and sign in again. - Try a different browser. Edge → Chrome → Firefox. Edge typically works best with Microsoft services.
- Disable all extensions. Especially ad/tracker blockers — they often break exactly the redeem and payment flows.
- Redeem via the Xbox app or console. The web form isn't the only path. On console: Microsoft Store → Redeem → enter the code. On Xbox app on PC: sign in → top-right → Redeem code. This path often works when the web hangs.
- Wait and retry in 30 minutes. If nothing helps, the account may have a temporary fraud-flag that clears automatically within an hour or two.
