What is an Xbox Global key and why does it fail to activate
Keys marked Global are meant to work worldwide. In practice, Microsoft ties every key to a specific market region. When you try to redeem a key, Xbox compares your Microsoft account's region against the region embedded in the key. If they don't match, the redemption is rejected — even if the packaging says "Global."
