Xbox Store Showing Wrong Region or Currency — How to Fix
You open the Xbox Store on console or on xbox.com — and the games are priced in the wrong currency, prices look strange, and some games are missing entirely. This means your Microsoft account region doesn't match what you expect. Here's how it happens and how to fix it in 10 minutes.
Why this happens
- Account region is set to the wrong country. During signup, Microsoft auto-selects region by IP, but many users click "next" without looking — and the region sticks for years.
- Payment method doesn't match region. Your account is set to Russia but you added a US card — Microsoft can switch Store display to USD automatically.
- Microsoft Family group. If you're in a family group with an organizer in another country, your Store region may partially conform to the group.
- Console cache. On an Xbox console, Store region is cached until restart. Change the region on the website and the console keeps showing the old region for hours.
How to fix it
- Open
account.microsoft.comand sign in. - Go to Your info → Country/region. This shows the current account region.
- Click Edit and choose the right country. E.g. United States / United Kingdom / Argentina / Turkey — whichever Store you actually want.
- Provide an address in that country. Microsoft asks for a real address, but doesn't verify the exact postal code. A valid public address (hotel, office, business) works.
- Save and wait 15 minutes. Microsoft does not apply the change instantly.
- Restart your Xbox console or browser. On console: Settings → System → Restart. This clears the Store cache.
- Remove mismatched payment methods.
account.microsoft.com→ Payment & billing → Payment options. Delete cards from non-matching countries.

Important: if you have a wallet balance, spend it before switching regions — after the switch the balance is effectively frozen.
