❓Why Does Google One Ask for a Local Payment Method?

The "add a local payment method" message in Google One means Google has detected your region but doesn't see a compatible payment method for it.

Why This Happens

Some Google One regions require a local payment card, not just Google Play balance. This is common when:

• Russian cards are blocked (since 2022)
• Your payment profile region doesn't match your actual location
• You recently changed your account region

Fix 1: Pay with Google Play Balance

Most regions do support Google Play balance for Google One — you just need to select it correctly:

1. Top up your Google Play balance with a gift card from marix.app
2. When paying for Google One, choose "Google Play balance" not "Add card"
