Google One auto-renews on the billing date. If it didn't, here's why.
Cause 1: Insufficient Google Play Balance
If your subscription is paid via Play balance, Google tries to charge it at renewal. No balance = no renewal.
Fix: Top up Google Play Balance a few days before renewal with a gift card from marix.app.
Find your renewal date: one.google.com โ Settings โ Manage subscription.
Cause 2: Payment Method Expired or Blocked
If the card used for the subscription is now blocked, renewal fails.
Fix: Switch to Google Play Balance as your payment method.
Cause 3: Account Region Changed
If you changed your account region, the old payment method may not work in the new region.
Fix: Add a payment method valid for the current region.
How to Prevent Interruption
- Keep Play balance above the monthly cost
- Top up 3โ5 days before renewal
- Consider annual subscription (less renewal risk)
What Happens to Files if Subscription Lapses?
Files aren't deleted, but you can't upload new ones if you're over 15GB free tier. Storage "freezes" until subscription resumes.
Summary
Google One doesn't renew due to insufficient balance or outdated payment method. Keep Google Play Balance topped up via marix.app to avoid interruption.
